This is a basic idea I have for a narrative which would have several 'options' for the audience to alter the outcome:
One person at a party in a high class tower. Suddenly an event happens and he realises he’s being targeted for an assassination. He then has to make a series of choices to escape the building
(Where to go/ who to trust/ etc)
At the final decision it is revealed that he was actually taking his choices from another source and that is You – an assassin also tasked with killing him. The story ends with the assassins escape after killing the apparent protagonist.
Protagonist establishes he doesn’t like tight spaces in the exposition, hinting at claustrophobia
Mistaken drink taking – turns out that his drink was poisoned.
Mistaken Drink taking: Has to be his drink and someone else doesn’t realise/ acts like a douche and takes it anyway. That douche guy then dies, and everyone crowds around him. Protagonists mind = Everyone else alive after drinking the alcohol + he died = the drink meant for him was poisoned.
Then begins to try and escape.
Three attempts on his life?
Ist choice: Trust issue (whether to tell the guard or not) or whether to ignore the attempt.
Going with the guard – he will try to escort you out of the area and gets shot, leading to the protagonist running for his life
Ignoring the attempt – the protagonist gets killed by an unknown assailant with a syringe while moving through the crowd.
When the protagonist is running for his life he has two options to where to hide:
One hides him safely
Second one (hiding in a locker) makes his claustrophobia act up, causing him to be spotted and killed
Has a choice to go up or down:
Down leads to death at the entrance
Up leads to the final decision
For this it feigns a decision – to open the door. This leads to the revealing that the protagonist has been spoken to by a radio given to him at the start as an unassuming object. When he opens the door the ‘true’ protagonist is revealed as another assassin aiming to kill him. The story ends with the assassins escape after killing the apparent protagonist.
